A new agro-industrial complex is being built in the southern capital, aimed at
developing agriculture and the processing industry.
The project will cover an area of 71.35 hectares, divided into 18 plots.
Farms and meat and dairy processing plants will also be built.
Once the project is fully operational, it will create around 1,000 jobs. Negotiations are currently underway to attract investment of 1 billion KGS.
The Osh City Council is also constructing the ‘Konur-Jaz’ reservoir, which will have a capacity of 20,000 cubic metres.
Once construction is complete, it will supply the agro-industrial complex with water for the irrigation of 400 hectares of land. It is expected that this will help resolve the issue of providing farmers with feed and create further opportunities to increase agricultural production.
