The city of Osh showcased its investment and tourism potential to businesses from Uzbekistan

A Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum was held in Osh, attended by around 80 businesspeople from Uzbekistan.

The forum was opened by the Mayor of Osh, Zhanarbek Akayev. He emphasised the importance of strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between entrepreneurs from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and expressed the hope that the event would serve as a platform for launching new joint projects.

The forum was attended by representatives of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ plenipotentiary office for the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Osh, as well as representatives of the business communities of both countries.
The parties discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment and implementing joint projects.

A presentation on Osh’s tourism potential was also given during the forum. Participants were briefed on the prospects for the development of the city’s tourism sector and investment opportunities.

In addition, business representatives were briefed on major infrastructure, urban development and socio-economic projects currently underway in Osh.
