Between January and May 2025, industrial production amounted to 257.9 billion soms

Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev held a meeting on the progress of construction of 134 industrial enterprises scheduled to open this year. The meeting was held via videoconference. The meeting was attended by heads of relevant ministries and government agencies, authorised representatives of the president in the regions, and heads of district state administrations.

During the meeting, topical issues related to the construction of production facilities and ways to resolve them promptly were discussed.

Deputy Prime Minister Bakyt Torobaev emphasised that each of the 134 projects has been assigned to a specific head of the relevant state agency, who is personally responsible for providing support in resolving any issues that arise, and instructed that special attention be paid to the quality of the enterprises scheduled to open this year.

«There should be no problems. At the slightest sign of a slowdown, appropriate measures will be taken. Any issues arising during the launch of production must be resolved promptly, with particular attention paid to quality. Local authorities must provide investors with accurate and complete information so that enterprises can continue to operate fully. The President signed a decree on the National Development Programme until 2030. The country needs to ensure steady economic growth. By 2030, GDP needs to reach $30 billion. An economic analysis will be carried out in every district soon. We need to step up work in our industries», — Bakyt Torobaev stressed.

It should be noted that in 2024, as part of preparations for the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Kara-Kyrgyz Autonomous Region, a special project was developed to launch manufacturing enterprises, as a result of which 102 manufacturing enterprises were put into operation by the end of the year. The Cabinet of Ministers has set equally ambitious goals for 2025. Initially, 128 projects were planned, but to date, 134 enterprises have already been included in the list of investment projects.

According to the results for January–May 2025, industrial production amounted to 257.9 billion soms, which is 13.8% more than in the same period of 2024. The largest share in the industrial structure is accounted for by manufacturing — 74.9%, followed by energy — 14.3%, mining — 9.8% and water supply and waste treatment — 1%. The volume of manufacturing output reached 193.1 billion soms (an increase of 15.6%).

As part of the implementation of projects, six industrial enterprises with a total investment of $126.5 million have been commissioned and started operations. As a result of their launch, 930 new jobs have been created.
