03/17/2025, 17:19Since 13 March 2025, explanatory meetings on the draft ‘Medium-Term Electricity Tariff Policy for 2025-2030’ have been held in the regions of Kyrgyzstan. Initially, the events started in Osh oblast and then covered Naryn, Talas, Chui, Issyk-Kul, Jalal-Abad and Batken oblasts.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Department for Regulation of the Fuel and Energy Complex and the National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan inform citizens about the planned changes.
The meetings discuss key aspects of the new decree of the Cabinet of Ministers, including the overall energy balance, industry costs, subsidies to energy companies, tariffs in other countries and conditions for replacing smart meters. Residents receive answers to questions about the current state of the energy sector and possible innovations.
The outreach will last until 20 March 2025 and is conducted in accordance with the Law on Regulatory Legal Acts of the Kyrgyz Republic. The authorities strive to ensure the transparency of tariff policy and communicate all details of future changes to the population.
