08/05/2025, 18:00Starting in the 2025/2026 academic year, Kyrgyzstan's schools will completely abandon paper diaries and so-called ‘red journals.’ This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education Lira Samykbaeva at an educational forum.
According to her, this was made possible by the active introduction of digital tools into the education system.
Today, 90% of all data on students in the country has been digitised, from demographic information and social status to attendance and academic performance.
«Now the entire educational process, from grading to communication with parents, will be conducted electronically. Teachers, deputy head teachers, head teachers and parents will all switch to the Kundoluk system and other digital platforms. This is not just a replacement for paper, it is a new approach to education management», — said Lira Samykbaeva.
In the app, parents will be able to see grades, homework assignments, schedules, electronic textbooks and other important information about their children's education in real time. Teachers, in turn, will record lesson topics, give grades and mark attendance, while school administrators will analyse the data.
A separate module in the system now deals with infrastructure: schools have started to enter data on the condition of buildings, furniture and equipment. This will help to plan budgets more effectively in the future: for example, to purchase furniture and equipment or build new schools where the load on existing buildings is too high.
