The main innovation is the transition to 12-year school education as part of the Altyn Kazyk programme. New state and subject-specific educational standards have been approved, and curricula have been developed for schools teaching in Kyrgyz, Russian, Uzbek and Tajik.
In the summer, tens of thousands of teachers underwent training and courses on the new standards and textbooks. In July and August alone, almost 18,000 teachers were trained, and more than 30,000 since the beginning of the year.
In the new academic year in Kyrgyzstan, about 3,000 teachers who worked with the Nariste preschool programme will begin teaching in primary schools on a full-time basis. This will help meet the demand for teachers and allow staff to be transferred from pre-school education to primary education.
In addition, in 2025, 1,222 graduates of Kyrgyz universities will begin their teaching careers in schools.
Today, August teaching conferences are being held in all regions of the republic, during which teachers are being presented with more than 27,000 Altyn Kazyk laptops. The same number of laptops will be given to other teachers throughout the year.
