Two mining companies have been added to the list of strategic facilities in Kyrgyzstan

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has amended the country’s list of strategic facilities. The relevant Resolution No. 349 was signed by the Prime Minister, Adylbek Kasymaliev, on 18 May 2026.

The amendments were made to Government Resolution No. 99 of 17 February 2014 ‘On the Approval of the List of Strategic Facilities of the Kyrgyz Republic’.

According to the document, the following have been included in Category B – “important facilities”:

— Imotu Enterprise (molybdenum plant);

— Karabaltinskaya Mining Company (mining of gold, tin, silver and uranium).

Both companies have been added to the section of facilities that are of economic importance and classified as high-risk facilities.

The document notes that the changes are aimed at streamlining strategic facilities that are of socio-economic importance for the sustainable development of the state.

The resolution will come into force ten days after its official publication.
