The reconstruction of the Bakhta-Nogoy canals, which provide irrigation for the lands in the ayakh aiymaks of “Kök-Sai,” “Sheker,” “Kara Sai,” and “Amanbaev,” is nearing completion.
These canals are part of the Kürküröö River system and play a key role in supplying water to the region's agricultural land. After the reconstruction, water supply will improve over an area of 5,120 hectares, and another 243 hectares of new land will be brought into agricultural use.
Work began in 2019. To date, the project is 95% complete, and completion is scheduled for the end of 2025.
The upgraded system will increase water use efficiency, improve conditions for farmers, and provide a significant boost to agricultural production in the Talas region.
