The renovated sports facility, originally built in 1963, now features modern stands, a lighting system, an artificial soccer field, and infrastructure for athletes. The stadium has a capacity of 3,975 spectators.
According to the Prime Minister, the development of sports infrastructure remains one of the state’s priorities. He noted that funding for the sports sector has increased significantly over the past five years, and the 51,000-seat “Bishkek Arena” stadium is scheduled to open by August 31, 2026.
“Great victories begin right here on fields like this,” Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized.
During a working trip to the Jalal-Abad Region, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the new building of the Tash-Kumyr Department of Urban Planning and Architecture and attended a match between the “Shakhtar” and “Bazar-Korgon” teams, which is part of the Kyrgyzstan First League Cup.
The “Shakhtar” Stadium was built more than 60 years ago and has undergone its first major renovation, which will allow it to host competitions and create modern conditions for the development of soccer in the region.
