06/03/2025, 10:08As of early June, spring field work in Kyrgyzstan is in its final stages. According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, sowing and ploughing have been carried out on a total area of 651,400 hectares, which is 93.4% of the planned sowing area.
The ministry notes that 102,400 hectares of wheat have been sown, or 99.5% of the plan, and sowing work is almost complete.
Barley has been sown on 223,700 hectares, or 92.7% of the plan, which is 0.9 thousand hectares more than in the same period last year. This year, the total plan for sowing spring barley is 241,300 hectares.
Corn has been sown on 104.9 thousand hectares, which is 97.1% of the plan. Potatoes have been planted on an area of 63.2 thousand hectares, which is 1.1 thousand hectares more than in the same period last year. In 2025, it is planned to plant potatoes on an area of 66.4 thousand hectares.
Vegetable crops occupied 52.3 thousand hectares, which is 0.4 thousand hectares more than last year.
The ministry also reported that melons were planted on 10.9 thousand hectares, which is 1.22 thousand hectares more than last year.
Oilseeds were planted on an area of 12.9 thousand hectares.
