09/05/2025, 14:15Eiji Fukunishi, Vice President and Head of Hitachi Construction Machinery's Mining Division, visited the Kumtor mine to familiarize himself with the deposit and the operating conditions of Hitachi's heavy mining equipment.
For the first time in the company's history, one of the five Hitachi EX3600 excavators at the mine exceeded 100,000 operating hours. Bolotbek Idirisov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kumtor Gold Company, noted that the equipment has demonstrated high reliability and ease of operation, and that this record was made possible thanks to the professional work of the mine's technicians.
Idirisov also spoke about the recently launched underground gold mining project, which will extend the mine's operation for another 40-50 years, as well as plans to develop the Tologok deposit and explore the Jangart area using Hitachi equipment.
Eiji Fukunishi emphasized the significance of the event and expressed his readiness to continue long-term cooperation with Kumtor Gold Company.
The EX3600 series excavators are powerful mining machines weighing about 360 tons with a bucket capacity of up to 22 m³, characterized by high efficiency in moving large volumes of rock.
