03/07/2026, 14:34As of 31 December 2025, Kyrgyzstan's domestic public debt amounted to 312.4 billion KGS (about $3.57 billion), which corresponds to 15.8% of GDP, according to the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to official statistics, the structure of domestic debt was as follows:
Short-term securities (government treasury bills) — 2.98 billion KGS ($34.1 million), which accounts for 1% of domestic debt.
Long-term securities (government treasury bonds with a maturity of 2–20 years) — 309.38 billion KGS ($3.54 billion), or 99% of domestic debt.
A small portion of the debt is attributable to Elbank's promissory note to depositors — 34.34 million KGS ($0.39 million), less than 0.1%.
