Kyrgyzstan's domestic debt reached $3.57 billion at the end of 2025

As of 31 December 2025, Kyrgyzstan's domestic public debt amounted to 312.4 billion KGS (about $3.57 billion), which corresponds to 15.8% of GDP, according to the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to official statistics, the structure of domestic debt was as follows:
Short-term securities (government treasury bills) — 2.98 billion KGS ($34.1 million), which accounts for 1% of domestic debt.
Long-term securities (government treasury bonds with a maturity of 2–20 years) — 309.38 billion KGS ($3.54 billion), or 99% of domestic debt.

A small portion of the debt is attributable to Elbank's promissory note to depositors — 34.34 million KGS ($0.39 million), less than 0.1%.

Domestic debt to GDP dynamics:

  • 2023 — 10.9%
  • 2024 — 11.3%
  • 2025 — preliminarily 15.81%
