A bike path and pedestrian zone may be built around Sulaiman-Too

Today, March 25, Osh Mayor Zhanarbek Akayev and Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliyev held a meeting to discuss cultural issues.

During the meeting, a presentation was given on the reconstruction project for the “Sulaiman-Too” National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex.

The mayor proposed building a bike path and a sidewalk for pedestrians around Sulaiman-Too. According to the project, a complete reconstruction of roads, stairways, gates, as well as the interior and exterior parts of the Sulaiman-Too museums is planned. The project consists of 12 sections and will be implemented in three phases with funding from the World Bank.

The building, with a total area of 10,000 square metres, was constructed between 1987 and 1989 and designed to accommodate 640 people; however, some of the premises are in a state of disrepair.
