GDP Is Growing, but Exports Are Declining: Results for the First Quarter of 2026

According to preliminary estimates, Kyrgyzstan’s GDP for January–March 2026 amounted to 428.6 billion soms. Compared to the same period last year, the economy grew by 10.1%. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

The largest share of GDP comes from the service sector (50.4%), followed by industry and construction (29.4%) and agriculture (3.8%). The share of industry and construction increased compared to the first quarter of last year.

Per capita GDP rose from 47.8 thousand to 57.8 thousand soms. The average monthly nominal wage increased to 46,731 soms, compared to 40,348 soms a year earlier.

According to statistics, inflation in the first quarter stood at 10.1%. Prices for services rose by 13.9%, while prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 9.9%.

At the same time, the volume of foreign trade declined: imports fell from $2.94 billion to $2.87 billion, and exports from $558.2 million to $482.9 million.

The published figures are preliminary and reflect Kyrgyzstan’s socioeconomic development for January–March 2026.
