06/13/2025, 12:52The Kyrgyz economy has seen a shift towards the manufacturing sector. According to preliminary estimates, the country's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 573.1 billion KGS in January–May 2025, an increase of 12.3% compared to the same period last year.
Although the service sector still accounts for the largest share of GDP at 52.9%, its share began to decline by 0.8 percentage points. On the contrary, the share of goods-producing industries has grown significantly, from 28.1% to 30.5% (+2.4 percentage points). This indicates the revitalization of industry, construction, and other real sectors of the economy.

At the same time, agriculture showed more modest growth rates — only 3%, with its share declining to 4.8%.
Despite the fact that the service sector is showing a downward trend in its share of GDP, its growth compared to the same period in 2024 amounted to 9.2%. The hotel and restaurant business grew particularly significantly, by 43.3%, as did trade, by 18.1%.
