In the first nine months of 2025, 72% of VAT in Kyrgyzstan was generated by imports

In 2025, 86.34 billion KGS of value added tax revenue to the republican budget came from imported goods. 

According to the Ministry of Finance, the total amount of VAT revenue was 120.37 billion KGS, all of which was credited to the republican budget.

The bulk of the revenue came from imported goods. Thus, VAT on goods produced in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 31.8 billion KGS (26%).

At the same time, imports play a key role: VAT on goods from the EAEU reached 35.2 billion KGS (29.3%), and on goods from third countries — 51.1 billion KGS (42.4%), together accounting for 71.7% of all revenues.

VAT on electronic services provided by foreign organisations amounted to 775 million KGS (0.64%). An additional 1.45 billion KGS (1.2%) was generated through VAT withholding by tax agents.
