Cash Collection Plan in Municipal Buses to Be Cancelled in the Capital Starting December 2

Following the directive of Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev, the plan for cash collection by municipal public transport drivers will be canceled as of December 2, 2024. However, there will be an intensified effort to monitor cash payments through a passenger counting system installed on buses.

This will be handled via the City Hall’s Situational Center, which processes data regarding road conditions in the capital. In cases where discrepancies are found between reported and actual cash payments, measures will be taken against drivers in accordance with Kyrgyzstan's legislation. It should also be noted that a cashless payment system currently operates on the city's municipal public transport.

The fare for public transport is set as follows: 17 soms for buses, 20 soms for minibuses, and 20 soms in buses equipped with validators for cash fare payments.
