Salaries in Armenia are 1.5 times higher than in Kyrgyzstan and 2.3 times higher than in Russia

According to the results for January–September, Kyrgyzstan once again showed the highest real wage growth rates among the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. This is according to data from the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The real average monthly wage in the republic increased by 10.9% compared to the same period last year. This indicator reflects the change in income adjusted for inflation and serves as a key indicator of the population's purchasing power. For comparison, similar growth rates were recorded only in Belarus (10%), while in other countries of the union, the dynamics were significantly weaker.

In nominal terms, the average monthly salary in Kyrgyzstan reached 42,757 KGS, an increase of 19.5% over the year. In dollar terms, this is about $490.

For comparison, real wages grew by 4.5% in Russia, 1.9% in Armenia, and remained below last year's level (-0.4%) in Kazakhstan, indicating the influence of inflationary factors.

Despite Kyrgyzstan's leadership in wage growth, its absolute level remains the lowest among the EAEU countries.

Converted into US dollars, the average monthly wage in January–September 2025 was:

  • in Armenia – $759;
  • in Belarus – $851;
  • in Kazakhstan – $833;
  • in Kyrgyzstan – $490;
  • in Russia – $1,137.

Thus, the gap between Kyrgyzstan and the union country with the closest indicator, Armenia, is about one and a half times, and the lag behind the maximum level recorded in Russia exceeds 2.3 times. This underscores that rapid income growth does not yet compensate for its low base compared to union partners.
