To improve irrigation infrastructure, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry has completed major repairs to the daily response basin on the Verkhnyaya-Kayirma canal in the Chui district of the Chui region.

The daily response basin plays a key role in providing irrigation water to the agricultural lands of the Onbir-Zhilginsky, Koshkorgonsky and Ibraimovsky ayakhan districts.
The total irrigated area is 2,356 hectares, including 2,056 hectares supplied by a 7,983-kilometre-long canal.

As part of the major repairs, a modern geomembrane and geotextile were installed.
Today, the facility has been put into operation and has begun to be filled with water, which will ensure stable and effective irrigation of agricultural land during the growing season.
The overhaul of the basin is an important step towards the sustainable development of the region's agro-industrial complex, increasing agricultural productivity and the rational use of water resources.
