04/30/2026, 15:05As of early 2026, women hold 42.4% of government posts in Kyrgyzstan, though their share in politics is significantly lower.
According to data from the National Statistics Committee on the structure of the civil service, men account for 57.6% of all civil servants, whilst women account for 42.4%. However, in political and specialised posts, women hold only 32.4% of positions, compared to 67.6% for men. In administrative roles, the gap is narrower: 43.3% of women versus 56.7% of men.
Previously, the proportion of women in government bodies had been gradually increasing; however, men continue to dominate significantly in key political positions.
