    Bishkek residents owe almost 139 billion KGS to commercial banks

    By the end of the first half of 2024, the Bishkek residents' debt to commercial banks reached nearly 138 billion 890.1 million KGS. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan reports about it.

    This is almost half of the total debt of citizens of the country, which is 280 billion 440.6 million KGS.

    The second place in terms of debt is occupied by Osh city and Osh oblast residents (38.9 billion KGS), and the third place is occupied by Jalal-Abad oblast residents (31.5 billion KGS).

    It should be noted that the citizens' debts to banks continue to grow in all regions of the country. In the second quarter, the Kyrgyz people's debt increased by 18.4 billion KGS compared to the first quarter, and for the year - by 52.6 billion KGS.
