Livestock farming surpassed crop farming in 2024

Livestock farming leads the structure of gross agricultural output in 2024, accounting for 48.5 per cent. Crop farming accounted for 46.8 per cent, with the remaining share distributed among forestry, hunting, fishing and agricultural services.

The volume of livestock production amounted to 192.4 billion soms, increasing by 5.9 per cent over the year. This is the most dynamic segment of the agricultural sector.

Crop production showed more modest growth — 185.7 billion soms and a plus of 1.4 per cent compared to 2023. The balance between the two areas remains, but livestock farming is gradually gaining ground.
