Livestock farming became the main source of growth in the agricultural sector over nine months

In Kyrgyzstan, in January–September 2025, the structure of agricultural production was distributed as follows: 50.8% was accounted for by crop production, and 45% by livestock farming. Forestry accounted for 0.3%, fishing for 1.3%, and services for 2.7%. These data show which areas currently occupy key positions in the agricultural sector.

The main volume of production — 93% — was provided by peasant and personal subsidiary farms. They remain the mainstay of agriculture and account for almost the entire output of the sector.

The growth in total output in the agricultural sector this year was driven by an increase in livestock production, which rose by 3%. As a result, agriculture as a whole showed positive dynamics, despite the absence of significant changes in other areas.
