05/20/2025, 15:42During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, MP Dzhailoobai Nyshanov stated that 18 companies involved in placer gold mining have failed to fulfil their obligations to reclaim the developed sites and have actually left the sites.
According to the deputy, the list includes the following companies: ‘Red Corner’, FONTA, ‘Golden Hand’, ‘Suluu Bel’, ‘Optimum Trade’, ‘KAI Enterprise Plus’, ‘Danai Service’, ‘Tash Budak Shaba’, ‘Buster’, Kalton, ‘Ak Ilbir-Aflatun’, ‘Arkhar Lachin’, Eventus and others. He emphasised that some of them are still continuing operations despite the violations.
‘They take away the gold and leave the people with ruined lands. These companies should return everything to its previous state as prescribed in the licence conditions. However, no measures are taken against them,’ Nyshanov said.
The deputy called on the authorised bodies to strengthen control over the execution of licence conditions and to require subsoil users to perform reclamation works.
