    The ADB is ready to allocate up to $150 million for the first phase of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project.

    During a working visit to the Philippine capital, Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev held talks with the leadership of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The meeting was attended by Evgeny Zhukov, Director General of the Regional Department for Central and Western Asia, Hideaki Iwasaki, Director General of the Sector Department, and Priyantha Wijayatunga, Senior Director for Energy.

    The main topics of the meeting were deepening cooperation in the energy sector, implementing large-scale joint projects, and financing issues.

    Particular attention was paid to the ADB's participation in the implementation of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 strategic project, which requires significant investment, the use of modern technologies, and the involvement of reliable international partners.

    The minister expressed confidence that the ADB can play a key role in supporting this project, both financially and in terms of expertise and technical assistance.

    For its part, the ADB leadership expressed its readiness to consider allocating between $130 million and $150 million for the first phase of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project.

    The parties plan to continue their dialogue in the near future, including additional negotiations in Kyrgyzstan.
