12/24/2025, 09:43In Kyrgyzstan, airfares for domestic regional routes in 2026 will be set below market levels. This was announced on Facebook by the president's press secretary, Askat Alagozov.
According to him, this decision was made in accordance with the instructions of Sadyr Zhaparov, as part of the implementation of the state program to support transport accessibility.
“The difference between the market value of tickets and the set fares will be compensated by the Stabilization Fund. This will prevent a sharp increase in ticket prices in the last hours before departure, a situation that was previously typical for domestic flights,” Alagozov wrote.
The measure is being implemented as part of the development strategy of JSC Airports of Kyrgyzstan and Asman Airlines, aimed at increasing the mobility of the population, strengthening interregional ties, and creating equal conditions for transport accessibility throughout the country.
Thanks to the personal support of the head of state, subsidies from the Stabilization Fund are being used to expand the network of domestic flights with stable, socially oriented fares. The initiative is exclusively social in nature and is being implemented in the interests of the citizens of the republic.
"Previously, the cost of tickets for domestic destinations was determined by market principles and depended on the season, level of demand, and flight occupancy. As a result, air travel was characterized by price instability and remained financially inaccessible to a significant part of the population, especially for residents of remote regions. Today, following a decision by President Sadyr Zhaparov, the state has ensured stability in this area by covering part of the costs," emphasized Askat Alagozov.
The decision will improve transport accessibility to the regions, support domestic tourism, create additional conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses, and improve the mobility of citizens.
In addition, the frequency of flights on a number of routes will increase. For example, flights to Naryn, Talas, and Kazarman, which previously operated once a week, will operate twice a week starting January 4.
