The number of cars in Kyrgyzstan is growing. There are 173 cars per thousand inhabitants

The number of cars in Kyrgyzstan continues to grow. At the beginning of the year, citizens owned 1.2 million passenger cars, which is 6% more than a year earlier.

On average, there are 173 cars per 1,000 permanent residents, but the figures are significantly higher in the largest and most developed regions of the country.

For example, there are 275 cars per 1,000 residents in the Chui region and 249 cars in Bishkek, making them the most motorized areas of Kyrgyzstan.

The growth of the car fleet is associated not only with an increase in the number of private owners, but also with an expansion in the import of used cars.

At the same time, the country's road network is actively developing. In 2024, the following were put into operation:

  • 337 kilometers of national and republican roads;
  • 108 kilometers of regional and local roads;
  • 218 kilometers of internal roads in rural areas.

Thus, by the end of 2024, more than 660 kilometers of roads had been built and reconstructed in the country.
