Bishkek and Osh share experiences: how to make cities more comfortable to live in

A working meeting with a delegation from the Osh City Council was held at the Bishkek City Council. It was attended by the head of the Bishkek City Council, Ilyas Kolopov, and the head of the Osh City Council, Masuda Aidarbekova, as well as representatives of municipal services from both sides.

The visit was organised with the support of the ARAKET project – for improving life in new buildings in Kyrgyzstan – and aimed to facilitate the practical exchange of experience in the field of urban development management.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of interest to both cities: improvement and development of housing and communal services, digitalisation of urban services, effective management of municipal property, modernisation of infrastructure, and implementation of environmental solutions.

Representatives of the Osh City Hall are currently studying the work of leading organisations in the capital, including Bishkekteploenergo, Bishkekvodokanal, Tazaly, the municipal inspectorate, the department of transport and road infrastructure development, and the digital technology centre.

The parties confirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue and further deepen cooperation.
