More than a third of all retail outlets in Kyrgyzstan are located in Bishkek

Bishkek remains Kyrgyzstan’s largest commercial hub. The capital is home to 30,000 retail outlets in markets and shopping centres.

The Sverdlovsk District has the highest number of retail outlets—almost 20,000. This accounts for two-thirds of all retail outlets in the city. The majority of these are general goods markets — over 17,000 outlets.

In second place is the Oktyabrsky District with 4,200 retail outlets, followed by the Leninsky District with 3,200 and the Pervomaisky District with 2,600.

There are 4,600 retail outlets registered in Osh. However, the majority of trade there involves the sale of cars and car parts — 3,200 outlets.

In total, there are 84,900 retail outlets in Kyrgyzstan. Almost one in three is located in Bishkek.
