Whose shareholding did Uzbekistan receive after becoming a member of EDB?

Uzbekistan officially became the seventh member of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) and received a 10 per cent stake in its authorised capital. This immediately made the country the bank's third largest shareholder, after Kazakhstan and Russia.

The Akchabar editorial board learnt at the expense of whose shares the package for Uzbekistan was formed. The bank told the editorial board: the share was allocated by proportionally reducing the stakes of other countries. That is, all current members ceded part of their shares to make room for a new member.

Recall that according to the latest data, Kyrgyzstan owns 4.23% stake in the Eurasian Development Bank. It increased it from 0.01% in 2023, after evenly distributing between the member states part of the package, to 321 thousand 151 shares in the paid-up authorised capital of EDB, owned by Russia.
