Money transfers to Kyrgyzstan exceeded $340 million in October

In October, migrant workers sent $340.5 million in remittances to Kyrgyzstan. This is significantly higher than in October 2024 ($272 million). The balance of remittances also showed an increase—$308 million compared to $232.3 million in October last year.

In total, from January to October 2025, $2 billion 958.8 million was received through remittance systems. Migrant workers sent the most in August — $342.5 million. This amount was a record high since June 2022. Then in September, the amount decreased by 13.6%, but by October it had almost recovered and the volume of transfers again approached annual highs.

The main source of remittances was the CIS countries. In October, $321.6 million came from there, of which $316.9 million was from Russia. Countries outside the CIS provided an inflow of $18.9 million, including $12.1 million from the US and $800,000 from Turkey.

For comparison, in October 2024, the total inflow of remittances amounted to $272 million, of which $256.7 million came from the CIS, including $251.8 million from Russia. Countries outside the CIS provided $15.3 million, including $6.6 million from the US.

It should be noted that the inflow of remittances in 2025 exceeded the levels of 2024 almost every month. The main increase was provided by an increase in remittances from Russia and the US. This year shows higher and more sustained activity among labor migrants, with October proving to be one of the strongest months in terms of remittance volume.
