According to the MP, the Republican Oncology Center applied for the delivery of 60 items of vital drugs, but only 4 were delivered. The rest have still not arrived.
"Oncology is not a disease in which you can wait. Every day without medicine can cost a person's life," Mamashova emphasized.
She also noted that the delays with supplies concern not only oncologic patients. In general, hospitals are experiencing an acute shortage of basic medicines, such as syringes and saline solution. Patients are forced to buy them at their own expense, although earlier such drugs were given free of charge.
According to the deputy, Kyrgyzpharmacy lacks proper conditions for storing medicines, including storage facilities. This jeopardizes the quality and safety of medicines.
Mamasheva suggested that the Mandatory Medical Insurance Fund (MMIF) be given back the right to procure medicines to avoid disruptions in supply and prevent medical facilities from suspending operations.
"Why didn't the Ministry of Health control this situation? We should provide people with basic medical care, not shift everything on their shoulders," the MP summarized.
