    For consumer safety, QR codes will be issued for halal products

    The Committee on Fuel and Energy, Subsurface Use, and Industrial Policy, at its meeting today, May 13, heard a report on the work being carried out by the State Agency “Center for the Development of the Halal Industry” under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic on creating conditions for the production, manufacture, processing, storage, and export of competitive domestic halal products and services.

    Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seitov reported that as a result of inspections between 2016 and 2025, 309 certificates were issued, and 19 laboratories are working in this area. He also added that for consumer safety, QR codes containing the necessary information will be issued for halal products.

    During the discussion, MP Kunduzbek Sulaimanov asked what measures would be taken against certificate holders who do not meet the requirements for halal products. MP Alisher Kozuev asked what standards the Halal Industry Development Center works by.

    In addition, the committee heard information about the work being carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic to provide subsoil users with historical and cultural expert opinions.
