03/03/2025, 12:08The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts that the discount rate of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic will remain at 9% during 2025 and may be increased to 9.25% by the end of the year.
In the medium term, the EDB expects the rate to reach an equilibrium level of around 9.5%.
Currently, the discount rate of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic is 9%, and inflation is within the target range of 5-7%. The regulator notes the growth of inflation risks associated with an increase in global food prices, high volatility in regional financial markets and rising consumer prices in key trading partner countries.
