Edil Baysalov stated that there were attempts to stir up anti-Chinese sentiment.

Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baysalov wrote on his Facebook page about ‘growing attempts to stir up anti-Chinese sentiment’ in society. He called what is happening a targeted information campaign capable of damaging Kyrgyzstan's foreign economic policy.

According to him, materials are being disseminated in the public sphere that are designed to give certain everyday incidents the character of politically significant conflicts.

"It is quite obvious to me that such provocations do not arise on their own. Their goal is to weaken and possibly derail the country's economic strengthening, undermine our growing international authority, and ultimately strike a blow to Kyrgyzstan's statehood itself," he wrote, emphasising that certain political forces are using this issue as a tool for propaganda.

He called on both the public and his colleagues in the government ‘not to succumb to manipulation’ and to remain focused on implementing the economic policy supported by the head of state.

Baisalov recalled his recent working trip to Pakistan, noting that the country's largest city, Karachi, has virtually no Chinese economic presence. According to him, this was the result of a long-standing anti-Chinese campaign, which was even accompanied by terrorist attacks on Chinese facilities.

‘The country, despite its strategic proximity to China, has effectively closed itself off from one of the most powerful sources of development, and this has become a serious obstacle to its economic growth,’ he continued.

In his opinion, this experience should serve as a warning to Kyrgyzstan.

He also touched on the topic of visa regulations with China and integration processes in the region. At the summit of Central Asian heads of state in Tashkent, an initiative to create a single tourist space was discussed. Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan had previously introduced visa-free entry for Chinese citizens arriving by air, which subsequently led to a full mutual visa-free regime.

According to Baisalov, Kyrgyz citizens are rightly wondering about the possibility of obtaining a similar regime.

"That is why we must be particularly responsible in our response to emerging information provocations. State policy cannot and should not be based on emotions. We need to calmly and clearly explain our goals to our generous people and confidently continue to deepen and expand cooperation with the People's Republic of China — for the sake of Kyrgyzstan's development and prosperity," he concluded.

We would like to remind you that earlier, the conflict between construction workers from Kyrgyzstan and China, which formed the basis of Edil Baysalov's post, was commented on by Dayirbek Orunbekov. According to information from the State Committee for National Security, 16 people were involved in the conflict in the area of the village of Konstantinovka, all of whom were detained.
