At the beginning of 2026, there were 3.7 million men in Kyrgyzstan. This is 49.5% of the total population. About two-thirds of them live in rural areas, while one in seven men in the country live in Bishkek.
The employment rate for men of working age exceeds 77%. The average age of employed men is 39, which actually coincides with the most numerous age group of workers — 35–39 years old.
It is this segment that forms the “core” of male employment in the country. Men are mainly employed in basic sectors of the economy—construction, transport, mining, and energy supply (electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning).
Kyrgyz men mainly marry between the ages of 20 and 29. The average age of first marriage is 27.6 years, and the average age of remarriage is 39.6 years.
Men continue to hold the majority of positions in the government system. They account for 55.4% of government officials and 62.3% of local government officials.
