11/20/2025, 10:10The capital's municipal authorities have specified that, taking into account the requirements of the legislation on noise and recommendations on energy saving, an algorithm for work and a plan for decorating the central square have been drawn up. All decisions are made with energy saving, safety and convenience for citizens in mind.
When decorating the tree, materials purchased in previous years are used as much as possible: light garlands, decorative elements, toys and small architectural forms. Every year, these elements are given a new design and reused.
It is worth noting that the main garlands have not been replaced over the past three years, so this year new energy-saving garlands with power regulators will be purchased for the Christmas tree, which will further reduce electricity consumption, as well as Christmas tree toys. The energy consumption of the fully decorated tree will be 53 kWh.
As in the previous year, the city council continues to work with business representatives who contribute to the festive decorations, thanks to which the budget does not bear any financial burden. A distinctive feature of this year's decoration of the square is the installation of an ice rink. Last year, the rink covered an area of about 400 square metres, while this year it will cover about 1,400 square metres. To maintain the rink's operation as the outside temperature rises, electricity consumption will be up to 30 kWh.
The design of the walking area and food court will begin shortly, in accordance with the approved project. This year, in order to create space for people, as well as to save and optimise the load on the city's power grids, the number of houses has been reduced from 36 to 14, and the maximum energy load per house has been reduced by half compared to last year. The required power for the facility will be about 2 kW.
The city hall noted that last year, partners invested about 28 million soms in the design of the square. This year, the amount of their contribution will increase, as the props, elements of the walking area design, houses and decorative structures are being completely renovated. The promenade area, food court, and mass events will be open until 22:00.
All installation work is scheduled to be completed by mid-December.
