    Inflation approached the upper limit of the corridor set by the NBKR

    According to the results of January 2025 in Kyrgyzstan, inflation was 0.6% compared to December 2024. The main factor of price growth was the rise in the price of food products, which rose by 1%.

    In annual terms (compared to January 2024), inflation in the country reached 6.7%.

    According to the Price Statistics Department, other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) also saw price increases:

    • Armenia: 1.4% by December, 1.7% year-on-year;
    • Belarus: 0.7% by December, 5.2% in annual terms;
    • Kazakhstan: 1.1% by December, 8.9% in annual terms;
    • Russia: 1.2% by December, 9.9% in annual terms.

    The highest price growth in January was recorded in Russia (1.2%) and Kazakhstan (1.1%). In the latter, particularly high rates of appreciation of non-food products (8.4%) and tariffs for services (13.8%) were noted.

    In Kyrgyzstan, the main contribution to inflation is made by food, which is especially felt against the background of general price growth in the region.
