Cabinet Allows Cash Wage Payments Under Specific Conditions

The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan has approved a list of conditions under which legal entities are permitted to pay wages in cash. The relevant decree was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev as part of the implementation of Article 91 of the Labor Code.

According to the document, cash payments are permitted in the following cases:

in the absence of banking infrastructure at the place of work;
during seasonal field work;
in the event of the seizure of the enterprise's bank accounts;
when paying employees of housing and construction cooperatives (until January 1, 2026);
in agricultural cooperatives.

It should be noted that even when paying salaries in cash, employers are required to keep full tax and labor records.
