According to the decree, honey sold must be produced in areas free from infectious bee diseases and must not contain any foreign impurities, signs of spoilage, traces of fermentation, or foreign odors. The production and storage of honey must comply with the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
Particular attention is paid to responsibility: not only producers and sellers will be punished for non-compliance with product requirements, but also their employees. They are also obliged to eliminate violations at their own expense, dispose of poor-quality honey or return it to the producer. Authorised state bodies are also responsible for non-compliance with the control procedure.
The introduction of uniform rules is intended to strengthen consumer confidence and facilitate access to Kyrgyz honey for foreign markets.
