The Cabinet of Ministers has lifted the ban on cement imports

Kyrgyzstan has authorised the import of cement. The Cabinet of Ministers has lifted a temporary ban to prevent shortages and price increases for construction materials.

The restrictions had been in place since the end of March, when imports of certain types of construction products were temporarily suspended. The clause banning cement has now been removed from the decree.

The government explained that demand for construction materials is growing, and domestic producers are not always able to meet it. The decision is intended to stabilise the market and not slow down the pace of construction in the country.

The new document was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliyev. It will come into force after its official publication.
