This step is aimed at implementing the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “On improving the efficiency of public administration in the field of science, education, innovation, and intellectual property.”
The resolution also approved a new management structure for the Ministry, which is designed to improve coordination and effectiveness in strategically important areas, from university education to research and the implementation of innovative solutions.
As part of the reorganization, changes have been made to subordinate institutions:
The State Intellectual Property Fund will now operate under the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation (previously under the State Agency for Intellectual Property and Innovation).
The State Institution “Innovation Center” has also been transferred to the new ministry.
The creation of a single body overseeing science, higher education, and innovation is aimed at consolidating efforts in these areas, developing the country's intellectual potential, and strengthening the role of knowledge and technology in the Kyrgyz economy.
