The Cabinet of Ministers has imposed a six-month ban on the export of coal by road transport

The Cabinet of Ministers approved a resolution introducing a temporary six-month ban on the export of coal by road transport. The document was signed by Adylbek Kasymaliyev on December 3 and published on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the resolution, a ban is imposed on the export of coal classified under codes 2701 and 2702 of the EAEU Foreign Economic Activity Commodity Classification, transported by road. The restriction applies to the entire territory of Kyrgyzstan, with the exception of the Irkeshtam and Torugart road border crossing points.

A separate provision applies to the open joint-stock company Kyrgyzkumur. Specifically, the restriction does not apply to the export of coal by the state-owned company through any checkpoints except Dostuk-Avtodorozhny.

The resolution instructs the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to notify the WTO and the Eurasian Economic Commission of the introduction of the ban, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the CIS Executive Committee, and the State Customs Service and the Border Service of the State Security Committee to ensure measures to control the ban.

The document also repeals the previous resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated June 21 of this year, which regulated the procedure for transporting coal.

The resolution will take effect three days after its official publication.
