08/25/2025, 11:27From August to September 2025, Russia has imposed a ban on gasoline exports to prevent shortages and price increases in the domestic market. The reason for this was record fuel prices on the St. Petersburg International Exchange: AI-92 reached 71,300 roubles per tonne, AI-95 exceeded 80,000 roubles, and diesel fuel exceeded 60,000 roubles per tonne.
However, as explained by the Kyrgyzstan Antimonopoly Committee, the ban does not apply to our country. This is due to the existing intergovernmental agreement between Kyrgyzstan and Russia on the supply of petroleum products.
Nevertheless, price increases in the Russian Federation are still affecting the Kyrgyz market. Supplies continue, but refinery prices have risen due to reduced production volumes and increased demand. Since July, there has been a gradual increase in fuel prices in the country as traders sell fuel purchased at higher prices. Despite this, the main task of Kyrgyz oil traders remains to prevent fuel shortages in the domestic market.
