The volume of freight transported by rail amounted to 10.5 million tons, which is the highest figure in the history of the Kyrgyz railway.
For comparison, for many years, the average annual volume of freight transportation in the country remained at around 7 million tons. Significant growth began in 2024, when the figure increased to 9.2 million tons. Already in 2025, the railway not only maintained positive dynamics, but also reached a new level, achieving 114.2% of previous volumes.
In absolute terms, the increase amounted to 1.3 million tons compared to the same period in 2024. The company considers this result to be an important stage in the development of the industry and evidence of growing demand for rail transport from businesses and the economy as a whole.
Kyrgyz Temir Zholu notes that the record figures were made possible by increased efficiency, optimisation of logistics processes and an increase in the volume of foreign trade cargo. The company expects that the pace achieved will further strengthen the role of the railway as a key transport link in the country.
