09/03/2025, 10:55The State Development Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced financing for a project by ChuyRusHydro LLC to build a small hydroelectric power plant on the Tuyuk River in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chuy region. The total cost of the project is 516 million KGS.
The new plant will have a capacity of 7.5 MW and an annual output of 29.16 million kilowatt-hours, which will provide electricity to up to 15,000 residents of the region. The project is expected to create seven jobs and generate annual tax revenues of over 15 million KGS.
The project will also include the construction of power lines and substations to improve the reliability of power supply. The implementation of the small hydropower plant will reduce the population's expenditure on coal and firewood, reduce dependence on hydrocarbons and cut CO₂ emissions.
