Kyrgyzstan and China have signed an agreement on the development of paediatric cardiac surgery

As part of an official visit by a delegation from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health to the People’s Republic of China, an important step has been taken towards strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare.

Bakytbek Kadyraliev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, signed an agreement on the implementation of the ‘Kind-Hearted Journey’ surgical project. The initiative aims to provide high-tech medical care to children with congenital heart defects in Kyrgyzstan.
The document was signed with Zheng Zhe, Deputy Head of the State Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

The implementation of the project will expand access to modern cardiac surgery, strengthen cooperation between medical institutions in both countries, and facilitate the introduction of advanced technologies and the professional development of specialists.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation also visited leading medical institutions in China – Fuwei and Tian-Tan hospitals. Discussions were held with representatives of the clinics on prospects for cooperation in cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, staff training, joint research and the development of academic exchange programmes.

The parties emphasised that the signing of the agreement reaffirms the intention of Kyrgyzstan and China to strengthen their strategic partnership in the field of healthcare and to develop joint humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving the quality of medical care for the population.
