12/10/2024, 15:06On 5-6 December 2024, within the framework of the Central Asian Cyberlaw Forum DLaw-2024, a meeting of representatives of the Authorised Personal Data Protection Authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Turkey took place. The outcome of the event was the signing of an agreement on cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and personal data protection.
Within the forum were discussed key issues of cyber security, international co-operation and regulation of the digital environment. The heads of delegations - Adyl Sydygaliev and Professor Faruk Bilir - expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached, noting the strategic importance of cooperation in the context of rapid technological development.
The agreement envisages the implementation of the following directions:
Joint research: studying the impact of new technologies on data protection;
Exchange of experience: organisation of expert visits and consultations;
Cybersecurity projects: development of initiatives to improve data protection;
Staff training: conducting educational programmes for professionals.
‘The exchange of best practices will allow our countries to strengthen the personal data protection system and increase the level of cyber security, which is especially important for the protection of citizens‘ rights,’ said Adyl Sydygaliev.
Professor Faruk Bilir stressed that Turkey is ready to share its experience and contribute to the creation of effective mechanisms for the protection of digital information.
The forum became a platform for discussing digital security strategies and strengthening international partnership in this area.
