07/15/2026, 13:05Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan intend to move towards the practical implementation of joint projects in agriculture. This issue was discussed on 14 July at a meeting between Marsbek uulu Ilich, First Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, and Kahramon Yuldashev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan.
The parties examined prospects for cooperation in rice cultivation, seed production, potato farming and livestock breeding. They also discussed joint variety trials, the exchange of seed material and breeding developments, the supply of agricultural produce, the introduction of modern technologies and the development of pedigree livestock breeding.
Following the meeting, representatives of the two countries agreed to move from discussing plans to implementing specific projects. Among the priorities are the exchange of expertise, the launch of joint production ventures, attracting investment and expanding cooperation between agricultural producers in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
