05/23/2026, 16:31Between January and March 2026, Kyrgyzstan imported 990.6 tonnes of ice cream worth $3.7 million. Compared with the same period last year, the volume of imports rose by 572.9 tonnes, or 137%.
Kazakhstan remains the main supplier. Imports from there totalled 891.5 tonnes of ice cream worth $3.2 million, compared with 372.9 tonnes a year earlier.
Imports from Russia also rose – from 9.9 to 41.6 tonnes – and from Uzbekistan – from 9.3 to 31.2 tonnes. Meanwhile, supplies from Iran ceased entirely. In the first quarter of last year, Kyrgyzstan imported 10.6 tonnes of ice cream from there.
This year, ice cream supplies from China began – 11.7 tonnes worth $54,500.
Kyrgyzstan purchased its most expensive ice cream from Turkey – on average around $10,800 per tonne. The cheapest came from Uzbekistan, at around $1,100 per tonne. By comparison, ice cream from Kazakhstan cost around $3,600 per tonne, and Russian ice cream $7,100.
